Joanne Kaar a local artist spent a few days at
Castletown Primary school working with every child in the school from
nursery to P7 with P5/6 creating insect panels that
were displayed on the walls of the school. Funding for the project
came from PTA donations, Highland One word, Scottish National Heritage and
fund raising events by staff, pupils and parents including a couple of
evenings making paper from Ellie Poo. Caithness Ranger Mary Legg and
volunteers also helped.
Joanne Kaar has been involved in several local art
projects. She lives in Caithness works around the Highlands. Last
year she was in China.
