Lyth Arts Centre, deep in the countryside, is housed in a beautiful old building surrounded by trees and ancient stone walls. From the outside it retains the character of a Victorian village school but the interior has been imaginatively converted to a dynamic multi-purpose arts centre.

Most of the programme is devoted to presenting the work of professional British and international artists and performers and the centre also acts as a stepping-off point for local artistic activity. The main aim is to promote work of the highest standard.

Summer Exhibition  - no Exhibition in 2002 due to building works.

A year-round programme of Live Performances presents the best work of small-scale touring companies - often innovative and experimental.  This includes drama, dance, jazz, folk, world, and new music.  2002 is the twenty-sixth season  .  The programme will be shorter than in most years due to the building works as the building cannot be used during construction.

The programme this year will be shorter than normal as many of the Lyth events require a studio theatre setting.  Plans are in hand for the annual Members evening which will be staged at an alternative interesting location.  To help support Lyth Arts Society through this difficult transition members are asked to kindly maintain their annual subscriptions.  the Scottish Arts Council has offered to continue support even while the programme of events are held in other venues as it is acknowledged that when the Centre re-opens it will be a much enhanced facility.

Home-made food - will return in the improved premises when opened.
