Editorial
My first task as the new Editor is to thank Don Smith for his sterling work during his time as Editor. He did this task with integrity and flair for many years. I inherit a format that I find attractive and a publication with a good reputation - which I wish to keep!

The current pre-occupation in the "outdoors world" is with Bio-diversity. There is an article to explain what this is about and I hope that members will take an interest and find a way to make a contribution.

A strong theme in this issue is about Strathnaver and Tongue. Geoff Leet hopes that we can take further interest in this area and perhaps give support to a project to stabilise Castle Varrich.
