"Slips That Pass in the Night"

 Linda Stamp, a retired Matron from Wick, collects snippets which actually appeared in various Scottish Church Bulletins. Their unconscious humour appeals. Here are some examples.

 This afternoon there will be a meeting in the south and north ends of the church. Children will be baptised at both ends.

This being Easter Sunday, we will ask Mrs Johnstone to come forwards and lay an egg on the altar.

Thursday, at 5pm, there will be a meeting of the Little Mothers Club. All those wishing to become little mothers please meet the minister in his study.

The ladies of the church have cast off clothing of every kind.
They may be seen in the church basement on Friday afternoon.
