Defence of Britain Project by Geoff Leet The Council for British Archaeology wish to record the military remains, mostly from this century, before they are forgotten and to ensure that some examples survive. I came across an Ancient Monument surveyor measuring one of the great concrete gun emplacements at Scapa. The airdromes must be have been mapped but I doubt if the decoy aerodromes are recorded, and smaller items like dragons-teeth are likely to have been missed. If any members would like to help I would be pleased to supply the Site report forms. |
