Councillor Gail Ross, right, Caithness civic leader and Councillor Deidre Mackay, area leader for Caithness and Sutherland, break the ground in a ceremony marking the start of work on a new Wick primary school which will replace the town's North and Hillhead schools. Four children from each of the two schools were also invited to participate, they are, from left, Alisha Mackay, Hillhead, David Alexander, North, Niamh Sutherland, Hillhead, Carly Rosie, Owen Edwards, both North, Alan Gunn, Hillhead, Abbey Kennedy, North and Calum Forbes, Hillhead.
