There are many old mills in Caithness reflecting the rich agricultural history of the area.  Once Caithness was well known as a grain producing county.  It grew comparatively well off compared to other counties further south due to the application of new farming techniques and sheer industry of the population.  Caithness being so far north the people have often made surprising amounts from seemingly poor conditions by sheer hard work and ingenuity.  In this section we will add pictures and links to information on the mills of Caithness.
