Gills Bay
Gills Bay lies on the Pentland Firth one of the world's wildest seaways in winter. A bay on the north coast often used as the place to take the boat to Stroma which once had a thriving population. It is easily reached when driving round the north coast road. Well known locally for the seals which are often to be seen lying on the rocks near to the seashore. A New ferry terminal has been constructed after earlier abortive attempts. the new company Pentland Ferries offers a complete service for vehicles and passengers from 1 June 2001.
