Gills Bay

A bay on the north coast often used as the place to take the boat to Stroma which once had a thriving population.  It is easily reached when driving round the north coast road.  Well known locally for the seals which are often to be seen lying on the rocks near to the seashore.  The small harbour had new pier facilities built to start a new ferry service to the south end of Orkney but due to the severity of winter weather and other problems this has not yet happened.
