OLRIG
HOUSE, CASTLETOWN Olrig House is the home of Oliver & Valerie Vellacott, and it has links with a Christian charitable trust which helps to finance church extension work and pastoral training. Accommodation and meals aree not charged for, but you or your church are invited if you wish, at the completion of your stay, to contribute to the ongoing work of the tTrust. Accommodation is available year-round for singles or doubles for a duration which will provide the greatest benefit, subject to availability. this includes two spacious en-suite facilities ideal for married couples, one of which is a completely refurbished Lodge, in the grounds but well removed from the main house. The house itself is big enough for you to have your own space, but not too big to lose the atmosphere of a private home. You may choose to spend all your time just letting the feel of this special place sink into you, encouraging reflection and prayer. Or you may decide to take a walk along the wide sands of Dunnet Bay. Or the entire North Coast, from Cape Wrath to Duncansby Head, is easily accessible by car within a day's outing. "this is a magnificent journey - one to be savoured and enjoyed to the full." Olrig House is set in 60 acres of its own woodland, pasture and walled gardens on the far North coast of Scotland. Olrig house is secluded and "away from it all". If you are seriously involved in Christian ministry, we invite you to make this your home away from home. It is a place prepared for those who simply need "to be" for a while. To be alone....your need for privacy or anonimity is scrupulously respected. To be away....travel north until you can go no further. Northernness affects the soul. To be refreshed...clear air, strong winds, big skies, abundant birdlife, island vistas. To be silent................ To be inspired............ To be nourished...time and space to read. There is a library. To be open................ |
Please contact Rev O H Vellacott at the above address if you are interested in staying for a while in this restful place. |
